Redfern Doctors located at 1b 118 Redfern Street, Redfern, 2016, NSW collects your personal details and health information to ensure we deliver the best possible healthcare service. Patients are entitled to access their information at any stage by contacting the practice or their GP. Your health information may be disclosed to other organisations over the course of your treatment and these instances will be discussed with you if required. Failure to provide accurate and comprehensive information could negatively affect your healthcare. If you have any concerns regarding your privacy, please contact the practice.

Communication Policy

Redfern Doctors offers email communication for administrative and selected non-urgent clinical matters, including appointment enquiries, requests for forms, referrals, and other general correspondence. Please note that email is not monitored continuously and should not be used for medical emergencies, urgent health concerns, or time-sensitive matters. If you require urgent medical assistance, please contact the practice by telephone, attend your nearest Emergency Department, or call 000 in an emergency.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your privacy and secure electronic communications, email carries inherent security risks. By communicating with us via email and providing your email address, you consent to receiving email correspondence relevant to your healthcare and administrative needs. Significant email communications may be documented in your medical record where appropriate.

We aim to respond to administrative enquiries within two business days and non-urgent clinical correspondence within three business days; however, response times cannot be guaranteed.

Social Media Policy

Redfern Doctors uses social media to share practice updates, health information, public health messages, and community news. We are committed to maintaining professional standards and protecting patient privacy at all times. To safeguard confidentiality, we do not discuss individual patient matters, provide medical advice, or respond to clinical enquiries via social media platforms. Patients requiring medical advice, appointments, prescriptions, or test result discussions should contact the practice directly by telephone or book an appointment. While we welcome feedback and engagement through our social media channels, we reserve the right to remove content that is offensive, abusive, misleading, or breaches the privacy of patients, staff, or other individuals.

Complaint Handling 

If you have a complaint about the care or service you have received, we encourage you to discuss your concerns with our Practice Manager in the first instance. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may lodge a complaint with the Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC), the independent body responsible for handling complaints about health services in New South Wales.
